End Feed Fittings

End feed fittings, usually in copper come in 8/10/15/22 & 28mm widths, certain sizes are available in gun metal. They are used for connecting light gauge copper tube employed in central heating systems and plumbing. When they are connected and heated to the correct temperature the solder added to the joint fills the gap between the tube via capillary attraction and once cooled forms a highly reliable joint. End feed fitting are a cost, effective, convenient and attractive solution to your plumbing needs,. They are highly available as they are used by most plumbers and there is a fitting to suit every job.

Compression Fittings

A compression fitting is a type of coupling used to connect two pipes or a pipe to a fixture or valve. It consists of three parts... the compression nut, the compression ring, and the compression seat.

The pipe is slid into the fitting and the nut is tightened down. As the nut is tightened, the compression ring is pressed into the seat, causing it to compress against the pipe and the compression nut, providing a watertight connection. Although compression fittings are usually easy to fit, with the most difficult part being tightening the nut, the real advantage is that they are easy to remove.

Solder Ring Fittings

» View our range of Solder Ring Fittings

Solder ring fittings are very similar to the aforementioned “End Feed Fittings” with the main difference being that they have an integral ring of solder. Thus removing the need for additional solder to be applied to the joint. Just connect the pipe to the fittings and heat. Once it has cooled you should be left with a sealed watertight connection

Again, these are usually made from copper, with some in gun metal, and are available to accommodate 8/10/15/22/28mm pipe.

John Guest Speed Fittings

John Guest Speed Fittings have been designed for the plumbing of hot and cold water services and central heating applications, including pressurised and combination (combi) systems. These fitting are “push-fit” and are simply connected and, in certain cases, tightened to give a leak proof and quick connection. The benefits of using these fittings and hoses is that they are easily stored, cut down on installation time, remove the need for using a naked flame and are light and easy to manoeuvre. They also address the space factor with their flexibility as they can be assembled and moved into situ with minimal effort. Due to the materials used, they are very reliable under pressure, do not conduct, as much heat and are able to withstand a greater fluctuation in temperature than traditional materials.

There are Five types of John Guest Speed Fittings:

PIPE-TO-PIPE CONNECTORS
THREADED CONNECTORS
TAPS, STOPTAPS AND VALVES
GENERAL ACCESSORIES
THREADED CONNECTORS
FLEXI HOSES
