There are many different bathroom shower choices available to today’s bathroom consumer. Whether it is over the bath showers, shower cubicles, manual or thermostatic showers Plumbcall direct have a shower to suit your needs. With these many options available in an eclectic range of styles showers are increasingly becoming the focal point of a bathroom.

Whilst the attractiveness of a bathroom shower maybe an important element in choosing which shower to purchase, the performance of the chosen shower must be taken into consideration. A good shower needs to be able to produce the required temperature and power to provide an exhilarating shower to invigorate you on those cold winter mornings.

The chosen style for your shower may well depend on the size of the bathroom concerned. If you have a smaller bathroom and no room for a separate shower cubicle the answer may be to incorporate a bath with an overhead shower, alternatively many people today may replace a bath in favour of a bathroom shower cubicle.

If the option of an overhead shower is chosen, it is important to remember to fix a shower curtain or divider to guard the floor from becoming wet.

Choosing your shower

One of the main choices available when choosing a bathroom shower is manual or thermostatic mixer?

Thermostatic mixer showers

Thermostatic showers will automatically maintain the chosen temperature, even when other household appliances are being used. In the event of either the hot or cold water supply failing the shower will shut off automatically with immediate effect. Because of a thermostatic showers ability to turn the water off if a system fails, it is often the choice for families as there is no danger of small children being at risk from overtly hot water.

Thermostatic bathroom showers are suitable for all recognised plumbing systems, including gravity, mains, pumped and combi-boilers

Manual mixer showers

The manual option controls the temperature of the water by manually adjusting the valve to the desired temperature before showering. It will not shut off automatically if there is hot or cold water failure, it will need to be turned off manually. The temperature and flow is controlled manually by an easy to operate single lever. The manual valve uses the latest technology in the form of a long lasting, self-cleaning ceramic disc cartridge.

Bathroom mixer showers draw and mix both hot and cold water directly from the cold water storage tank and the hot water cylinder or both from the mains fed supply. They are ideal for homes with readily available hot water and will deliver a truly refreshing shower.

Tip: When choosing your shower it is important to consider the décor of the whole bathroom, shower cubicle or wet room. Aligning traditional fittings with traditional décor can really compliment an already attractive room.

Clean lines of a contemporary or modern bathroom can be maintained through shower fittings, uber modern heads and controls, right down to the floor and wall coverings.

Whatever your bathroom showering needs, Plumbcall Direct have a shower to suit everyone from the UK’s leading shower manufacturers. Whether it be a manual mixer or a thermostatic shower there is a shower to fit every style, budget and performance need.
