» View our range of Taps The design of the tap has developed a long way recently, they now come in a wide variety of styles and designs, it would be almost impossible to not find the perfect partner for your kitchen or bathroom sink. There are sleek, minimalist style taps to complete the look of contemporary, semi-professional kitchens and there is a wide choice of period reproduction designs - from Art Deco to Victorian - for traditional kitchens. As stainless steel is the most popular sink material, there is a range of complementary metallic tap finishes to choose from. Nickel, pewter and silk (brushed steel) effects provide alternatives to the high gloss of chrome. Taps in coloured finishes are available to match the colours of composite sink materials. There are three main types of taps which are dual flow mixers, tri flow mixers and single lever taps. There are three main types of taps which are dual flow mixers, tri flow mixers and single lever taps. Dual or tri flow taps Dual flow taps allow for water to be delivered as either hot or cold water or as a mixture of both from a single spout. The Dual or tri flow mixer can be deck mounted or for a more traditional look can be pillar/bridge mounted. Single lever taps Continental-style single lever taps combine the on/off function and temperature adjustment using one lever control: Move the lever up and down for on/off operation and from side-to-side for temperature adjustment. Choose from top lever, side lever or ‘joystick’ designs. Tri flow taps Tri flow taps are a one of the newer additions to the tap range and include an inbuilt water filtration system, accessed through the middle lever on the mixer tap. When the lever is pulled the cold water is diverted through the filtration system that fits neatly under the work surface. The tri-flow tap is available in a range of styles and finishes from antique gold traditional bridge taps to ultra minimalist brushed stainless steel. Tri flow taps are a cheaper and more convenient alternative to bottled water or storing cold water in the fridge as they provide a constant flow of purified water straight from the tap.
Tip: A tap should always be chosen with the sink in mind and, wherever possible, be chosen at the same time. Materials of the sink, work surface and other décor should also be taken into consideration when choosing the style and the finish. If you are replacing the taps of an existing sink then it is important to incorporate the size and numbers of holes into the decision as some taps require one, two or even three feeds. » View our range of Taps |
